Melissa Sloan, known as Britain’s "most tattooed mother," recently shared a photo of herself without her signature tattoos, leaving people stunned by the dramatic transformation.
Sloan, a mother of seven, has been getting tattoos for over a decade, accumulating more than 800 tattoos. She shared that she gets inked three times a week and doesn’t recall what she looked like before her tattoos adorned her face and body.
For the transformation, Sloan used a simple £3 foundation makeup to cover her tattoos, revealing a drastically different appearance. However, the change wasn’t welcomed by everyone.
In an interview with the Daily Star, Sloan shared her children’s reactions: “None of them talked to me that day. The kids weren’t having any of it. It didn’t go down well. They said, ‘Go back to your craziness mum.’ It was like they were looking at a stranger. When the makeup came off, everything went back to normal.”
Sloan’s older children, however, disapprove of her tattoos, and she revealed that she doesn’t maintain contact with them. Despite this, Sloan stands by her decision, stating that her tattoos symbolize freedom, creativity, and strength in the face of judgment.
Although some commented that she looked beautiful without the tattoos, Sloan remains steadfast in her love for her ink. She said, “This was just an experiment. I feel comfortable with my tattoos and don’t regret them. They represent my uniqueness and teach my children to embrace their individuality.”
While her tattoos have led to criticism and nicknames like ‘smurf’ and ‘freak,’ Sloan emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself. “Beauty comes in many forms,” she says, urging others to celebrate their differences.
