Selena Gomez Deletes Emotional Video Reacting to Trump’s Immigration Orders

Selena Gomez recently removed a video where she expressed an emotional response to President Donald Trump’s latest executive orders on immigration. The singer and actress shared her sentiments about the plight of immigrants and the harsh policies being implemented.

In her now-deleted video, Gomez, who is of Mexican heritage, tearfully stated, “I just want to say that I’m so sorry. All my people are getting attacked. The children. I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something but I can’t. I’ll try everything, I promise.”

According to NBC News, President Trump’s executive order involves conducting major immigration raids in three U.S. cities weekly, aiming to deport millions of individuals in the country illegally. He also declared illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border a national emergency, enlisting troops to support immigration agents and imposing strict refugee and asylum restrictions.

Tom Homan, the former director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and appointed “border czar,” defended Trump’s stance, emphasizing the legality of immigration laws. “If you’re in the country illegally, you’re on the table. Every time you enter this country illegally, you violate a crime under Title Eight, United States Code 1325,” he said during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Hannity criticized Gomez’s video, questioning her focus on the emotional aspect of Trump’s policies while allegedly overlooking crimes committed by illegal immigrants. He stated, “I didn’t see any tears for American citizens who suffered due to violent crimes.”

Gomez, who has spoken openly about her Mexican roots, previously shared in a Time article about her family’s immigration journey. She wrote, “In the 1970s, my aunt crossed the border from Mexico to the United States hidden in the back of a truck. My grandparents followed, and my father was born in Texas soon after. In 1992, I was born a U.S. citizen thanks to their bravery and sacrifice.”

This incident has reignited discussions about the impact of immigration policies on individuals and families, sparking conversations on social media about empathy, heritage, and the responsibilities of public figures.
