Community Mourns the Loss of 2-Year-Old Ava Ann Marie Tabor

The tragic loss of a child is something no family should ever have to endure. Yet, the family of Ava Ann Marie Tabor is facing unimaginable grief after their beloved two-year-old daughter was taken from them far too soon. As her parents, loved ones, and the community mourn, they are also demanding justice for Ava.

A Beautiful Life Cut Short

Born on November 28, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas, Ava Ann Marie was a beacon of joy. With her bright blue eyes and contagious laughter, she brought happiness to everyone around her. She loved dancing, helping in the kitchen, and filling her home in De Queen, Arkansas, with love. Her parents, Levi Landon James Tabor and Kylie Marie Perez, adored her, cherishing every moment spent together.

But tragedy struck on March 4, 2025, when Ava succumbed to injuries inflicted upon her while under the care of Wesley Davis, a 19-year-old babysitter.

A Parent’s Worst Nightmare

On that devastating day, Davis was babysitting Ava in Lockesburg, Arkansas, when he called emergency services after she became unresponsive. Investigators later revealed that Davis had admitted to physically assaulting the little girl.

Ava was rushed to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where doctors fought to save her life. Tragically, she passed away, leaving her parents shattered.

A Mother’s Heartbreaking Goodbye

In a gut-wrenching Facebook post, Ava’s mother, Kylie Perez, expressed the pain of losing her little girl:

“Our very last time holding our baby… After two years of putting you to bed, making your bottles, playing with you, waking you up, taking you bye-bye, and listening to your mini concerts in the car… I’ll never get to do that again. No more Ava kisses, no more hearing ‘momma c’mon,’ no more baby loves… WESLEY DAVIS, you took this from me. YOU TOOK MY WORLD. YOU TOOK EVERYTHING I LIVED FOR. I will not stop until you get what you deserve. I LOVE YOU, AVA ANN MARIE TABOR. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MOMMY’S BABY. NEVER FORGOTTEN.”

Pursuing Justice for Ava

Initially charged with first-degree domestic battery, Davis is now facing first-degree murder charges. During a recent court appearance, Judge Bryan Chesshir set his bond at $1 million and issued a no-contact order for Ava’s family.

Her mother, Kylie, remains determined to see Davis punished:

“My baby did not deserve this. And he [Davis] deserves every bad thing that’s coming to him. And I will not stop until he gets it.”

Community Outrage and Support

Ava’s passing has deeply impacted her community, with many expressing anger and grief. Sevier County Sheriff Robert Gentry confirmed that authorities have received numerous threats against Davis.

“There have been death threats, and we have had threats of bodily injuries and harm to Mr. Davis,” Sheriff Gentry stated.

Officials urge the public to let the justice system handle the case while ensuring Davis is held accountable.

A Final Act of Kindness

In the midst of their grief, Ava’s family made the selfless decision to donate her organs, giving other children a chance at life. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on through those she has saved.
