“He Wrote the Soundtrack to Our Lives” — Fans Honor Mick Ralphs
Mick Ralphs, the master behind some of classic rock’s most iconic guitar riffs, has died at 81. Best known for founding Bad Company and Mott the Hoople, his influence stretched far beyond the 1970s. With one guitar solo, he could make the world feel alive—and now, the world mourns him.
Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers gave the first heartfelt tribute: “My heart just hit the ground... Mick was my friend, my songwriting partner, and a genius with a guitar.”
Though he’d been out of the spotlight since a 2016 stroke, Ralphs’ songs never stopped playing. “Can’t Get Enough,” “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” and “Ready for Love” weren’t just hits—they were declarations of identity for millions of fans.
Set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this November, Ralphs sadly won’t be there in person. But he’ll be there in every word spoken, every amp buzzing with his memory.
This wasn’t a man chasing fame. He once said, “I want to be loved—but only because I believe in what I’m doing.”
Rest easy, Mick Ralphs. You gave us more than music—you gave us something to believe in.
