Dr. Kimberly Nix, a Canadian doctor who captured hearts worldwide by documenting her battle with metastatic sarcoma on Instagram and TikTok, has passed away three years after her diagnosis. She was only 28 when she was diagnosed, during the final year of her medical residency.
Through her videos, Dr. Nix became an inspiration, openly discussing the challenges of living with a rare and aggressive cancer while continuing to share positivity, humor, and resilience. She showed the world not just a patient, but a woman full of life, dreams, and determination.
Her final nine-minute video, posted on May 8, was deeply moving. As she got ready on camera, she reflected on her love for her husband, gratitude for her supporters, and the fullness of her life despite its brevity. She asked that those moved by her story consider donating to the Sarcoma Alliance.
“I had a beautiful life,” she said. “I’m so proud of it.” Her only sorrow, she admitted, was not being able to grow old alongside her husband.
